Geoffrey Clarfield, an ethnomusicologist and the Director of Research and Development for ACE, the Association for Cultural Equity, which was started by Alan Lomax and his his extraordinary archive of records, sends this attachment with the message, “read this and weep.” It’s about an incredible stash of the music of Tanzania and East Africa going back decades, that needs to be converted from reel to digital :
