
kids get it, that we have to take care of the animals and not kill them, and somewhere along the line we lose track of this. unless we’re hunter-gatherers and there’s nothing else to eat, and there’s only a few thousand us in that category left, or we live in the arctic circle where there are no plant alternatives, we don’t have to kill animals for protein. what a great conversation between kid and mom ! what I love about Brasil : its carinhosidade. The little boy is wise beyond his years, the magic age between four and eight that de Koonig said he was always trying to get back to, at a level of pure innocent enlightenment that everything in his life later will conspire to take him down from.
